Digital Element Announces Release of WorldBuilder™ 3.5 and WorldBuilder Pro™ 3.5

Digital Element Announces Release of WorldBuilder™ 3.5 and WorldBuilder Pro™ 3.5

New Release Of Popular Modeling And Rendering Package Includes 3D Clouds, Rain, Snow, Improved Waterfalls, RPF Support, And Levels Of Detail

OAKLAND, CA (December 5th, 2002) Digital Element, an Oakland-based software development firm specializing in 3D nature, announced today the release of WorldBuilder 3.5, the latest update to the premier package for modeling and rendering high-definition, animating landscapes. WorldBuilder 3.5’s feature set once again sets WorldBuilder apart from other landscape software packages – this time by adding rain, snow, and 3D clouds.

3D artists can now have rain and snow that animate, just like their grass and trees do. Users aren’t limited to 2 ½ D skies, but can move the camera freely through clouds as well as get the stunning from-the-ground views WorldBuilder users have always enjoyed.

WorldBuilder 3.5’s new Levels of Detail make rendering faster and real-time scene generation easier. WorldBuilder 3.5’s new ability to export to RPF format makes compositing with WorldBuilder even easier. “This new release demonstrates our commitment to further 3d landscape generation technology” says David Tracy, WorldBuilder product manager, "combining high definition animation and seamless integration with other packages.”

Armed with a huge plant library, 3D clouds, animation wizards for rain, snow, trees, grass, and waves, and plug-ins to most general modeling and rendering packages including LightWave, Maya, 3ds max, AutoCAD Viz, and more, WorldBuilder artists have the tools to make vivid, verdant landscapes, underwater scenes, and more! WorldBuilder Pro users can also purchase the Rosetta Communicator plug-ins, which allow artists to seamlessly combine projects between WorldBuilder Pro and multiple 3d packages.

WorldBuilder Pro 3.5 retails for $999 and the Standard version, which differs in network rendering and access to the Rosetta Communicator Plug-ins, retails for $399. Academic pricing is available.

Registered WorldBuilder users can also upgrade their current version. Normally $199 for both Standard and Pro users to upgrade, users of WorldBuilder 3.2 can purchase the upgrade for $149 for a limited time through either Digital Element or any WorldBuilder reseller.
