Aurora Lets PhotoShop™ Users Create Skies, Lighting, Clouds, Water, and Reflections in PhotoShop

Oakland, CA – April 08, 2002. Digital Element, Inc., an Oakland-based 3D technology company specializing in natural scenes, announced today its breakthrough plug-in Aurora.Aurora allows PhotoShop users to add natural elements to any 2D PhotoShop image to enhance an existing picture or create new content from scratch. Ideal for landscape architects, web designers, and creative content / graphic design specialists, Aurora comes equipped with a full on-line manual and nine extensive tutorials that teach every aspect of its use.“We have learned a lot of lessons from WorldBuilder.” Says Don McClure, President of Digital Element, Inc. “Among them, we’ve come to the conclusion that we need to build high-end 3D modeling and rendering power into elegant, sharp instruments that meet the needs of today’s graphic artists.”Aurora is feature-full and offers a range of interfaces that span from fine-tuning layered cloud effects with multiple point-lights to creating entire scenes from scratch with the press of a button. Aurora includes the following features:

  • Sky system with gradient that allows clouds to be displayed at any angle and on multiple layers
  • Sun and stars effects
  • Volumetric, ambient, and point-source light;
  • Water with reflections
  • Haze, as well as other atmospheric effects
  • Dozens of quickly-modifiable pre-set templates that make creating a scene easy
  • The Variator – a scene variation tool that makes creating new, original content fun and simple.

Aurora works with PhotoShop 6.0 and is currently available for PC and Mac platforms. Aurora retails for $149 and is available for purchase at www.digi-element.com.
